If your new home is served by a private well don’t drink the water until it has been checked for bacteria. Private wells do need to be checked for bacteria and in most cases can be disinfected.
This small test will also check the flow and pressure output and general condition of the water pump.
This is not an exhaustive test and does not tell us how much water is available. Did you know the national average lifespan is 7.5 years however many pumps will last 20 years.
